Taproot Artist Circle
What would it do for you to have a regular meeting with an artist community for support, comradery, accountability and depth of dialogue?
I can tell you that for me and the artists and creatives that I work with it makes a world of difference. It brings a sense of purpose, focus and energy. |
|
Taproot Artist Circle is an intentionally small group for mid-career artists and creatives working in a variety of mediums. Whether or not you intend to make a living from your creative work, you are committed to making it a central part of your life and you are able to commit time, energy and resources to it. You are “all in” and ready to up the ante, to take your work more seriously.
This program helps you deepen your practice, clarify your purpose and fully engage your artist self. You will gain a community that is deeply connected and profoundly rewarding.
Some of the themes that we address:
- Creative direction: build or refine a solid reliable creative direction that is both authentic and inspired.
- Time and space: set up and maintain a rhythm of work that fits you in the context of your life, so that you can feel the ease and spaciousness of a creative life instead of the frantic sense that you should always be doing more. Creating or improve a physical work environment and mindset that entices and supports you.
- Creative process and cycles: understand where you are in the overlapping and interconnected cycles of creative process can give you a sense of ease and trust in the process.
- Community: Lean into a creative community that is deeply supportive on a number of levels. Learn what the essential components of community are for you and how you might continue to create effective community going forward.
- Inspiration and source material: nourish your creative soul so that the work flows with the excitement of discovery and the rightness of personal engagement and does not get stopped up with too many ideas leading you in the wrong direction.
- Audience: experience the value in engaging with an audience in an open and vulnerable exchange. Take the next steps to developing the right audience and type of venue for you with a goal toward getting the work out into the world in a way that fits who you are as a person and a creative: your values, strengths, mission and temperament are key in making choices about how you want to bring your work out into the world. This is about finding a way to connect that feels authentic, fun and nourishing- what a radical idea!
- Mindset blocks and limiting beliefs: we all have fears, patterns and distorted beliefs that get in our way. Learn to recognize them as they come up, and gain the tools and skills to learn from them and deepen your authentic creative exploration.
What is included?
1. A small intimate community of exciting artists from around the world who are all committed to creating work from a deep place.
2. Witness response- Monthly we will meet to share work with each other and give witness response. This is a central part of the program with a kind of feedback that gives you a sense of the power and value of your work. It is far more inspiring and empowering than the traditional critique format.
3. Support on all of the topics mentioned above and others that come up along the way. Members of the group will be at different places in their creative journey
3. Accountability and comradery- it still amazes me how much easier it is to pursue your own work in the context of others who are doing their own work. We will have time for Co-working as well as intention setting and follow up with the group, with your buddy, and with me.
4. Individual coaching- These sessions are built around your needs. This is a place to gain clarity, get individual support on moving through challenges, set intentions and gain insights.
5. Quarterly review, reset and planning for the season- this will involve both a group meeting and a guided individual process

How do you join?
This group is made up of artists who I have already worked with individually for at least 2-3 months. If you are interested, lets talk about it during an intro conversation.
Schedule:
TBD
New groups form as needed. Please let me know if you are interested in being considered for a future group
Cost
I am using a sustainable pricing model. I do this because I understand that while we are all equal in our worth and need, our economic system is such that we have a wide variety of levels of wealth and different areas of the world require different incomes in order to be comfortable. What is a ton of money for some is really not that much for others. The standard price is set, in the context of all that I offer, to create a reliable middle class income for me with the business expenses covered. My goal is that every artist I work with will be able to make a sustainable, comfortable, reliable middle class income.
